If you know me, I am always on the prowl for a good veggie burger in Boston. I am currently going on 11 months as a vegetarian and it’s been easier than one would think thanks to more restaurants becoming more accommodating for us veggie-lovers. I made the decision to be vegetarian based on lifestyle reasons: buying meat is expensive, chicken was the only meat I ate, and I’ve gotten so sick off of undercooked meat that it was time to just go cold turkey.

For the past 4 years living in Boston I have ranked my top five veggie burgers, so if you need a good recommendation look no further than below:

1. Tasty Burger, 1301 Boylston Street

Veggie Burger

Guacamole, Spinach, Red Onion, Tomato

2. Whiskey’s, 885 Boylston Street

Southwestern Black Bean Burger

Guacamole and Chipotle Cream Sauce

This burger is so amazing that no one ever has ever had time to take a picture of it until after it has been devoured and it is too late…

3. Dillons, 955 Boylston Street

Quinoa Burger

Lettuce, Tomato, Spicy Aioli

Does not do it justice…it’s the bomb.com

4. Wahlburgers, 132 Brookline Ave

The Impossible Burger

Smoked Cheddar, Lettuce, Caramelized Onions, Housemade Chili Spiced Tomatoes, Wahl Sauce

5. Yard House, 126 Brookline Ave

Vegan Burger

Avocado, Tomato, Arugula, Onion, Miso

Eating veggie burgers gives the best of both worlds: its healthy AND it’s a burger. A burger is a burger no matter what it’s made out of, my dad calls it “rabbit food” but I call it heaven in between bread. Cheers!
