In the spirit of the holiday season, I wanted to share a list of my favorite Christmas songs! These are the songs that I have on repeat every year around the holidays.
“Last Christmas” by WHAM!
This song gets me so pumped for Christmas, you have no idea. “Last Christmas” is definitely my #1 Christmas favorite and I will always sing along. WHAM! must not have realized their impact when they came up with this song because it is the best.
“Happy Xmas (War is Over)” by John Lennon
Even though this song was created in a very different era, I feel like the meaning can resonate with the state of the world right now. There will be many people in various areas of the world who will not get to enjoy the holidays due to violence and poverty. Around this time of the year, it is important to acknowledge this and give back to those struggling right now if you can.
“Santa Baby” by Eartha Kitt
This song is a staple on my Christmas playlist! Did Christmas even happen if you did not listen to “Santa Baby” this year? The answer is no.
“I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause” by The Jackson 5
The Jackson 5 makes some of the best Christmas music, in my opinion! This song is so precious and fun, it just makes me happy.
“Wonderful Christmastime” by Paul McCartney
“Wonderful Christmastime” is an instant serotonin boost. If this song comes on, you just need to be prepared to get up and dance!
“Please Come Home for Christmas” by The Eagles
This is such a chill Christmas classic and I just love The Eagles, so it had to be on the list. “Please Come Home for Christmas” is for the sad and lonely, but great to jam out to regardless.
“Blue Christmas” by Elvis Presley
If you are in your feels this holiday season, this song is for you. Elvis makes some really good Christmas music but this song in particular is my favorite of his. It never gets old!
“Drummer Boy” by Justin Bieber and Busta Rhymes
I have been obsessed with not only this song but the entire album since 2011. I don’t know how Justin Bieber created one of the best Christmas albums ever, but he did. Be prepared to turn up when this song comes on because it is just too good.
