Hosting the Perfect Super Bowl Party: Dorm Style

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emerson chapter.

With Super Bowl Sunday just around the corner, what better way to celebrate than with your very own Super Bowl party?

Whether your teams are playing, you’re a sports fanatic, or you just want an excuse to throw a party in your room, Super Bowl Sunday is always a hit. The food is delicious, the commercials are hilarious, and hello—Beyonce! Need we say more?

So with a few of our helpful hints, you’ll be well on your way to hosting the best Super Bowl party your dorm has ever seen!

First things first, organize ahead of time.

There’s nothing worse than throwing a party together last minute, so plan ahead and get everything you need before kickoff. This includes having all your invites sent, your tasty treats out, and your decorations put up. Arrange the seats around the TV so that everyone can see, and put your food on a buffet table that’s easily accessible for everyone to snack on throughout the game.

Go for paper and plastic!

This one’s pretty self-explanatory because we all know that the worst part about a party is cleaning up after it. With all the dishes that would pile up otherwise, having plastic cups and utensils, along with paper plates, will make the clean up process that much easier. Better yet, you won’t have to worry about anyone breaking that special mug of yours!

Food!

There’s truly nothing better than sitting down to watch the game with a nice heaping bowl of chips and salsa sitting right in front of you. But to spice things up even more, have a variety of foods that your guests will love! Try putting together a plate of nachos or mix together some yummy bean dip. You should also try some new things like buffalo chicken balls and chocolate strawberry footballs! The possibilities are endless and your guests will love the variety.

Have a variety of drink preferences

With all the screaming and yelling that will be going on, people are going to get thirsty. When they do you’re going to want to have multiple options for them to choose from. To get more for your buck, try making a punch. It’s quick, easy, and is a definite crowd pleaser!

Decorate

Now, on a college budget it can get a little pricey to spend money on decorations, but a party is nothing without having something nice to look at.  No, your collection of nail polish, however totally cute and stylish, isn’t one of them. Print pictures from online, use paper to make faux signs that you and your friends can wave around as you cheer your team on. It’ll get people into the spirit!

A Super Bowl party is totally worth all the effort that is put into it, and your guests will appreciate all of your hard work. With all of these hints in mind, your party will be the hottest party on campus.
