With so much going on in our day-to-day lives, life can get pretty overwhelming. We may find ourselves stressed out, exhausted from a day’s work, not in the mood to hang out with friends, or all of the above. For me, music is a way to de-stress and calm myself down, despite how much I get overwhelmed or stressed out. One of my favorite artists is BTS, and some of their songs are an instant pick-me-up. Here are some of my favorite BTS songs I listen to when I need a little bit of cheering up!

“Dynamite”

This is the number one song I play whenever I’m feeling a little off. If you haven’t listened to it yet (which I highly recommend you should), “Dynamite” is an upbeat disco-pop track with, as the lyrics say, a “little funk and soul.” Despite the chaos that has been going on around the world, “Dynamite” talks about the joy of life and the appreciation of the things that make people happy. The music video and their performance on America’s Got Talent bring me so much joy that it makes me forget about all of my worries. It’s safe to say that it is the song of my summer, which makes this the number one song on my list of BTS pick-me-up songs.

“Go Go”

If I could describe “Go Go” in a few words, I would say that it is a literal party song. Its introductory instrumental immediately pulls you in, and it only gets even more fun from there. The lyrics talk about having fun while you’re young, and to treasure the fun times like there is no tomorrow. The song’s outro repeats the words “just go instead of worrying,” which I think is exactly what we want to do if we’re down in the dumps. BTS’s comeback stage performance always makes me want to dance with them!

“Magic Shop”

“Magic Shop” is a song for those who need a pick-me-up, but also want to feel a little sentimental. “Magic Shop” is a song that first appeared on their album Love Yourself: Tear, and BTS’s youngest member Jungkook has expressed that he and the rest of the group would feel very happy if fans can find comfort through this song whenever they are struggling or in pain. The song refers to a door you carry in your heart; if you open it, you will find the Magic Shop, a place to feel love and comfort. You can see in their live performance that their love for their fans is endless, and vice versa.

“Attack on Bangtan”

If you’re looking for any older BTS songs to bring your mood up, look no further than “Attack on Bangtan”—as suggested by the title, it’s a very anthemic song for BTS. With high energy from start to finish, this song is not only one that will help you cheer up, but also one that will motivate you to become energized for the day! Between enthusiastic rap verses as well as a heavy chorus, “Attack on Bangtan” announces the group’s arrival with the chanting of their name. Little did they know that they would grow to become one of the biggest artists in the world. Here’s a throwback performance to get you up on your feet!

“Home”

Ending the list is a song that is an instant mood-booster while also having chill and calm vibes. “Home” talks about how the group’s fanbase is the ones they go to whenever they are tired and lonely; though they have become a massive success and are able to afford luxury things, they find themselves unsatisfied with the luxuries. The lyrics talk about how they see their fans as their home and how they gain strength from the people who love them. With its heartwarming lyrics and a catchy beat, “Home” is a song to listen to whenever you’re feeling a little down. Plus, their performance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon is incredibly wholesome!
