Get Back Into the Swing of Things After Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Elon chapter.

It’s time to trade in your bikinis for jeans and replace your People magazine with textbooks because spring break is over!  You may be asking yourself, how will I ever be able to do work again after a refreshing week of sun, sand, or just sleep?  Maybe you were productive and finished most of your work beforehand.  But let’s be honest, getting back into the swing of things is hard!

After complaining to your friends, procrastinating, watching the tv shows you missed, and procrastinating some more, it’s time to get to work.  If you find yourself having trouble getting into the mindset you can try these helpful tips:

1. Clean your room.  Although this may sound like a chore, tidying up a little bit can really get those productive juices flowing.

2. Study Groups.  Since everyone is getting back into the swing of things, try getting together with a group of friends and dedicating an hour or two for just schoolwork.

3. Take your Work Outside.  We could not be luckier to have one of the most beautiful campuses in the country, so take advantage of the pretty atmosphere and bring a book or notecards outside.

4. Make a Do-To List.  The best way that I find to keep on track is by planning.  Making a to do list can help you get back into school mode and maybe you can even reward yourself!

Taking one of these suggestions, or finding one of your own can really help the awkward phase of re-entering the work environment.  So sharpen your pencils, charge your laptops and enjoy the rest of your spring semester!
