Campus Cutie: Anna Fratello

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Eckerd chapter.

Hometown: Sharon, Massachusetts

Relationship Status: Taken

Major: Pre-med track majoring in Biology with a minor in Anthropology

What do you love most about Eckerd?

The people. There are so many different types of people from all over the world. Everyone here is so friendly. Students are into all sorts of different things and are willing to share these different aspects with you.

What do you do for fun?

I like to take my roommate’s dog to the beach, play sports, and take naps. I really like running, field hockey, and I’m learning how to play lacrosse.

What are you involved with on campus?

I’ve been involved with EC-SAR since freshman year, and this year I was named medical coordinator. I’m lucky enough to be a part of a team that gives back to both the Eckerd Community and Tampa Bay while doing what I love.

What is your dream job?

The only major goal I have for myself is to be happy. I could see myself doing anything as long as I’m helping people and feel like I’m contributing to a greater cause. If I could find something that would also allow me to travel, that would be amazing. I’ve always wanted to be a doctor, so participating in Doctors Without Borders is high on the list.

If you had a homework and worry-free weekend, what would you do?

I want to visit the natural springs around here; the waterfront does so many trips and I wish I could be a part of more of them.  I’d also love to be able to explore more of St. Pete, especially around central. There are a lot of unique shops and stores that I’d like to to browse.

What did you do for fall break?

I went home back to Boston! I visited my boyfriend and family, and did all of the fall things you can’t do here. We went pumpkin picking and apple picking, and I went to a wedding.

Who is your celebrity crush?

Charlie Hunnam from Sons of Anarchy.

What is your favorite movie?

Jurassic World or Straight Outta Compton—no, definitely the second.

Favorite saying?

I’m known for saying “Risk it for a biscuit”, “Lost apple sauce” is another one. I picked up on those from my father.

What are some fun facts about you?

I’m related to George Washington, I’m born on Valentine’s Day, my favorite food is green beans, and according to my boyfriend, my hair bun bounces when I walk.

Alexis Giordano is a junior at Eckerd College where she is majoring in Psychology with a pre-health track. She became interested in physical rehabilitation when she experienced a neck injury as a child and is now planning on getting her masters for occupational therapy. She has gained communication and leadership skills throughout two main internships during her college career, and has developed a deep care for people. In the future, she hopes to work in the neonate intensive care unit as an occupational therapist and help parents effectively interact with their ill or premature babies while understanding the sensitivity of the situation.
