I’ve known for a while that Jasmine has a real sense of style, but sitting in her room looking at her clothes really made me jealous; her wardrobe is filled with quirky vintage items, some of which are one-offs, and all of which suit her perfectly.

Describe your style in three words?

Vintage, indie, alternative.

Ever had a terrible fashion mistake?

‘I only found this style over the past couple of years, but before that point I didn’t really know what to wear. I don’t think I was very fashionable! I have done that awful thing where you walk out of the toilets with your dress tucked into your knickers or tights…’

Favourite items?

‘The first is this vintage patterned Next shirt, from a charity shop. I love charity shops; it can be hard to find good things but when you find something great, you get it for a small amount of money and it generally lasts because people throw away some really good stuff.

‘The second is this red winter dress. I’m not sure whether it is handmade, but I got it from eBay and it cost under £5, post and packaging included. I love how quirky and Victorian-ish it is, but I can make it look modern.  eBay is great for getting individual pieces.

‘The third is this skirt.  Both of my Grandmas were really great seamstresses, and my mum’s mum made this out of an old curtain.  I saw the material and asked if she would be able to do something with it, and she made this. I’ve altered parts of a coat before, but I really need to learn how to do this!’

Wearing?

‘This coat is from a charity shop. I love it, it’s very granny chic.  The dress was my mum’s when she was younger; I have a few dresses and tops from her.  I don’t really buy expensive shoes but these are from Clarks, and I’ll be wearing them for years because they are such great quality leather.’
