What better way to spice up your day than with a new, exciting hairdo?!

The side braid has hit and is here to stay. If you’re feeling adventurous and are sick of simply wearing your hair down everyday, add some spunk to your do. Simply part your hair to whichever side is natural, grab a good chunk of hair from the part and French braid that section onto the side of your head, secure the end in place with some bobby pins. If you are feeling extremely bold, pull the rest of your hair back and create a large French braid that will rest on one shoulder.

Feathers in the hair are for everyone. As I walk around campus, about 30% of the girls have random feathers or colorful streaks highlighting their luscious locks. The color adds some attitude to a boring do.

Another new look that all the celebrities and models are rocking is the slicked-back pin-straight ponytail. First, straighten the hair until extremely flat, add some anti-humidity hairspray when the hair is down and put the hair up in a tight ponytail with a rubber band. Pull the hair back tight and add some styling gel or wax to the top of your hair to keep it tame and flat.

Sick of that naturally stick-straight hair?! Add some spritz to your life with some waves and curls. For the ultimate Shirley Temple curls, sleep in foam curlers and wake up the next day a new person! To get some beach-babe waves, add some Herbal Essences wave/curl-creating mousse to wet hair, and scrunch the hair with your hands as it dries.

Be bold, try a new look, spice up your life!

Sabrina is a Junior at Duke University, and is double majoring in English and Public Policy. A born and bred South African, Sabrina has traveled to the USA to pursue her higher education. As well as being a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, Sabrina is also Assistant Vice President for Recruitment for the Panhellenic Association at Duke. Sabrina has written for Duke's daily newspaper, The Chronicle and Duke's fashion magazine, FORM. After graduating, she hopes to attend law school preferably in her favourite city, New York. In her spare time, Sabrina vegges out to various fashion blogs, mindless TV (Pretty Little Liars anyone?) and online shopping (which borders on an addiction). If you manage to catch her in an energetic mood, she's probably on her way to cardiodance (or to the nearest mall).
