Faire la teufis something I learned while abroad in Paris.  It’s a French slang term meaning “went to a party, or had a party, or party hard”… okay so I don’t really know, but in order to fully embrace the French language while abroad we used faire la teuf as much as possible, in every possible setting.  And in honor of Paris, this weekend, J’ai fait la teuf.

While Ashley was off rekindling her love for FAC board I rekindled my love of cooking and my love of all things French.  No, that’s a lie… I love all things French all day every day, so this weekend I embraced my love of French food and decided to tackle the wonder that is Julia Child’s Mastering the Art of FrenchCooking.  My friends and I love to throw parties, we love to cook, and we love to drink wine.  What better way to combine the three then throwing a “French Night Fest”?

The Menu:French cheeses, Brie àla four (baked brie), homemade frites(French fries – like real French fries, if you’ve been to France you know what I’m talking about), soupe àl’oignon (French onion soup), haricots verts àla provençale(Provencal French green beans), and boeuf bourguignon (beef bourguignon).

The Company:A fabulous group of amateur foodies (a.k.a. my amazing friends) and my chef-in-crime, Chris

The Result:The most amazing meal-you-have-ever-tasted-in-your-entire-life-that-came-out-of-the-kitchen-of-a-group-of-college-students.

Now if you know anything about French cuisine or Julia Child’s cooking then you know that it was in no way an easy task.  We spent a total of… wait for it… 6 hours cooking.  But, I’m not lying when I say that it was worth it. The food was to.die.for.

So if you dare, grab a group of friends, a couple bottles of wine (trust me… you need the wine) and put an afternoon aside to make your own French cuisine because let me tell you… it was worth it… yes every single minute of the entire 6 hours.

And not to brag or anything, but I do believe there’s a new French cuisinièrein town… Julia Child would be so proud.  And if I can do it, trust me, so can you.

Bon Appétit!
