The Best of Pinterest

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Duke chapter.

This week I’m going to show you my favorite finds on Pinterest because we all need something to lighten the mood since it”s cold and cloudy outside. Just consider this a friendly compilation of some fun, interesting, and helpful things.

1. Here’s my favorite outfit for the week. It’s a classic southern prep outfit for fall. So welcome to Duke, you’re south of the Mason-Dixon now. Embrace it and enjoy it.

2. My favorite dorm craft of the day are these adorable cushions. This link takes you to the instructions for making them. It’s a teeny bit complicated but it looks like a good Christmas Break craft to bring back for second semester.

3. In honor of Halloween, here’s my favorite carved pumpkin! I’d love to find this in my dorm’s bathroom!

4. And my favorite Halloween snack. Aren’t these hotdog mummies just adorable?!

5. LES MEAN GIRLS! You must read this. It is necessary because it is the most clever and hilarious thing that any teenage girl will see. Whoever made this is a genius. http://lesmeangirls.tumblr.com/

6. You must try this. Immediately!!! Put two peeps on a plate with toothpicks in them and microwave them. They joust each other, and it’s extremely entertaining. Take a break from the assignment you’re working on it and try it: so much better than homework.

7. Here’s the best dog Halloween costume! This pug is taking one out of Miley’s playbook and going as a wrecking ball, with a naked girl to match.

8. The dessert of the week goes to this yummy little thing. It reminds me of Thanksgiving and I’m pretty sure we all want Thanksgiving and the break that comes with it. So why not make these and have a taste of the holidays? Also, if you do make them, I live in Bassett and would be your best friend.

9. Dorm Food! Calling all eaters that are sick of Marketplace! Here are some cool mug recipes to try out. These should spice up your dining just enough.

10. And my favorite beauty tip for the week: these gorgeous Essie fall colors. I just love Essie and how relaxing it is to give yourself a manicure. Take some time to pamper yourself this week!

So there you have it, my top ten pins for the week. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do and if you try any of these things, feel free to share your results here on Her Campus! We love interacting with all our amazing readers out there. Also, if you don’t have one, make a Pinterest! It is amazing and a great place to find great ideas for everything.
