Spring quarter has finally arrived! (Although it may not seem like it, what with that snow day we had this week). Spring quarter is what every upperclassman you meet on campus your freshman year will talk about – about how its twenty times better than all other quarters combined and once it arrives, it will exceed your expectations. Here’s a few reasons why spring quarter beats all others:

1. Spring Skiing

There’s nothing quite better than showing up to Keystone on a Thursday (because of course you stacked your schedule) to find the sun shining, the temperature in the 60s and no ski lines. Not only are you about to have an amazing ski day, you’re going to be skiing in one of the few places left in the country to ski, and you’re going to be able to do it in just a onesie (or if you’re feeling really bold, some chubbies and a t-shirt). There is also nothing better than showing up to class the next day with a ~sick~ googles tan.

2. Red Rocks

Spring quarter not only brings us warmer weather but brings us numerous concerts and festivals at Red Rocks. From classic rap to EDM, anyone and everyone can find their perfect, one-of-a-kind concert at Red Rocks. There’s something special about being able to see one of your favorite artists or bands preforming in warm spring weather and feel one with nature all at the same time.

3. Bright & Tight, ZBTahiti and Mustache Bash

You don’t have to leave campus to have amazing concert experiences – one of the best part of Spring Quarter is ~bomb~ fraternity charity concerts. Why not have fun with your classmates at a venue downtown while supporting a good cause all at once? PLUS, did we mention – this year ZBTahiti is having Waka Flaka Flame, Bright & Tight has Illenium, and Mustache Bash has all the funk music youre heart could desire. All of these concerts raise money for a good cause, so make sure to check them out.

4. Lax Games and Tailgates

How else would you like to start a Saturday morning then by throwing on as much DU swag as you can and getting darty-tipsy with all your friends? Fast forward and you get to watch last year’s NCAA champions kick some other school’s butt for free. Tailgate and lacrosse season brings out a more spirited DU, all while this year our team hopefully progresses to another Championship – we will be following them the whole way.

5. Darties

Lastly darties – probably one of the best parts of spring quarter. How elese are you supposed to spend a lazy, warm, sunny Saturday afternoon other than playing drinking games with your friends, or listening to music and laying out roof-top. Since almost everyone stacks their schedules spring quarter, there is ample amount of free time to get outdoors, because it’s a lot harder to lay in bed all day on a Netflix bing when the sun is out and you don’t have class for the next 3 days.

After cold temperatures, sporadic snow storms and saying goodbye to the sun at 4pm, Spring quarter will not disapoint, no matter how you decide to spend your spring quarter. So get out there ladies, and do spring quarter right.
