4 Shows to Bingewatch This Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Drexel chapter.

Fall is the season for cute dates at the pumpkin patch, pumpkin spice lattes, and staying in bed watching Netflix when it is too cold to go outside. We have all been in the same position – you are laying in bed watching Netflix, you look at the clock and realize that you have been watching for more than three hours. You are too far gone and you just keep watching. If you are like me and have been stuck in a drought with Netflix shows and movies, don’t worry, here are some shows and movies that are being added this fall.

Gilmore Girls – November 25th

This is not a joke, Gilmore Girls IS back. It has been nearly ten years since we have last seen our favorite family on our television screens. This is not the first TV-to-Netflix series. Following in the footsteps of Fuller House, the makers of the Netflix spin-off, Gilmore Girls, have released little info regarding the plot line of the show. What has been released, however, is enough to get any fan excited. The majority of the cast is scheduled to return. The season has four episodes that are each 90 minutes long, which is basically like a mini movie!

The Vampire Diaries/The Originals – October 2016

Season seven of The Vampire Diaries and season three of The Originals have been on Netflix since October 8th, so if you haven’t watched either yet, you should do so immediately. The new seasons of both shows are set to release later this month so there is no better time to play catch up. The shows are filled with romance, action, vampires and attractive people. It is super easy to bingewatch, so go at it. Get some snacks, give yourself a couple hours, and binge watch all of the episodes just in time to catch up on your favorite spooky shows in honor of the fall season.

American Horror Story: Hotel – October 4th

One of the best things about fall is a new season of AHS. Every year I watch American Horror Story from season one to the current season. If you are not a fan of the current American Horror Story season, Roanoke, watch some of the older episodes. Season five was released on Netflix on October 4th so you have all of the finished seasons at your fingertips. You can get attached to all of Evan Peters’ characters and fall in love with them like I have!

Shameless: Already Released

TV shows that are an hour long are a blessing and a curse. They are basically mini movies, which are amazing, but you also spend six hours watching a show without realizing how much time has gone by. That is completely okay to do with Shameless though. The show focuses on a family that viewers are not used to seeing on their screens. Those who have been watching Shameless since its release last summer understand how exciting it is that season five and six have been released on Netflix. Breaking the expectations of the typical television family, Shameless gives viewers characters that you want to change because you love them so much. Trust me, this show is worth the watch.

There you have it, collegiettes! We’ve given you hours upon hours of material to shamelessly bingewatch this fall. So, cuddle up with a blanket and some popcorn and prepare to not leave your bed for a few days. What shows do you love to bingewatch on Netflix? Let us know in the comments!
