16 Life Lessons Blair Waldorf Taught Us

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Drexel chapter.

Queen Blair Waldorf of the Upper East Side showed us how to get our way with anything we wanted – whether that be Ivy League universities, speeches, ultra exclusive high society clubs, parties and even boys. The Queen was a master at scheming and manipulating. She was a smart, overachieving perfectionist that always knew what to say and what to do. Here are some life lessons that Blair taught us that we must never forget.

1. We’ve all had to experience horrifying group projects. You can’t trust anyone when it comes to getting tasks done. You can only really rely on yourself.

2. Never expect anybody to respect you the way you respect them. Most of the time, you have to demand respect from others.

3. Retail therapy is real.

4. Don’t let anybody tell you that you can’t do something, be something or be somewhere.

5. Don’t let anyone or anything pull you away from feeling like you’re on top of the world.

6. You can give a man the world on a silver platter and be willing to literally do anything for him without even thinking twice about it. But if he doesn’t do the same for you, he’s not worth it. The guy who deserves you will go to the moon and back to make you happy.

7. You can only fake it until you make it for so long. Eventually, you’ll break down and need to recharge and that is completely okay. You’re strong, but the strongest people accept the fact that they’re not okay.

8. Don’t be afraid to show love to those you care about.

9. Know where you stand.

10. You really don’t need boys to make you happy.

11. Stay optimistic. Most of the time things really aren’t as bad as they seem. And even if they are, it gets better.

12. Always have a to-do list, especially one with your most important tasks.

13. Be passionate about an interest, hobby, or something.

14. You’re unique and there is only one you on this planet. You’re original and no one can be you.

15. Always have faith, but when that doesn’t work out, follow Blair’s next piece of advice

And lastly, there is THE most important life lesson that you must never forget:

16. Know your worth.

When life gets tough, do as Blair would do. Walk with your head held high, a stunning outfit on and an aura of confidence. Blair taught you well. You can do anything!
