Outlander Reunion!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Dickinson chapter.

*Spoiler for those who have not watched Outlander and want to*

Last week’s Outlander episode was the one fans had been dying to see! After the Battle of Culloden had separated both Claire and Jamie by 200 years and the Atlantic Ocean, Mrs. Fraser finally found her way back to Scotland to reunite with Jamie. While the advertisements had advertised the love scenes, the episode itself had a well balanced mixture of suspense, romance and conflict. Claire was soon reminded that reuniting with Jamie had some consequences, such as finding out what had happened in the past 20 years they were apart.

Jamie and Claire understood that their dynamic may not be the same as when they left and slowly take their time getting back into the rhythm of their relationship. I appreciate that they did not just jump into each other’s arms and make everything feel like it was normal. Not seeing someone for a long time doesn’t just mean that you can reunite with them like no time has passed, so it’s great that the Outlander crew understood that the reunion had to have it’s ups and downs but not leave the audience waiting for the moment they anticipated from the start of the season.

I haven’t watched the latest episode after the reunion but I know whatever Jamie and Claire have to deal with this new life together, they can handle it. They’ve already faced the worst, so what else could they overcome? Can’t wait for the rest of the season!
