In your college experience you will take different levels of courses from 100 to 300 depending on your course curriculum. I am taking my second 300 course and I have come up with a few tips I have learned:

  1. Time Management- I have gotten heavy course load while others I have not. But when you do, manage how to get it all done before the day it’s due. I’ve had three assignments due before the next class before.

  2. Read Ahead- If your professor requires a textbook, read the chapters ahead of time and take notes. They will most likely ask questions or give a pop quiz.

  3. Write Important Dates- There will be assignments scheduled back to back. Tests right after an essay or a project after the midterm. Crazy stuff so make sure to stay up to date.

  4. Resources- If you need tutoring, get it. If your professors reads rough drafts or does out of class study sessions. Take advantage cause it helps with your grade at the end, your professor knows your on your game, and it helps you.

  5. Make Friends- I have classes where it’s five students or less, while other classes have had up to forty students. With connections it helps if you miss a class, have a question, or want to make a study group.

  6. Syllabus- Most of your professors have a syllabus which contains a mixture of stuff from the semester. Some of the sections include expectations, grade scale, contact information, assignment & test dates, and more. This is one of the most resourceful documents you will receive and I’ve looked at mine many times in one semester for a class, because most professors refer back to it throughout the semester.
