NASCAR Drag Race

During the weekend, I had to go to the Maryland International Speedway for my internship and got to experience my first Drag Race.  Now you may be thinking this was like “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” but it was definitely not. That definitely would have been cool, but this was Drag Cars racing for speed and using all sorts of nitrogen and more to make their cars go faster.  Our booth was right behind the bleachers which is where the action was. We had a great walking traffic and a good views of the racers fixing up their cars, but it was so incredibly loud. There were so many types of cars with all different types of motors and colors that it was a great experience, visually.  They were breaking records left and right, going faster than 350 MPH, and still driving side by side it’s crazy.

I was there to promote the main message of “preventing drinking and driving.”  It is a very important message that I believe in and that we definitely had put into the perspective of the people who were at our booth.  It was a smaller event, then some that I had gone too, but it had a pretty good walking traffic. At the booth we had a mix of an audience from older to young, our most popular attraction was our fatal vision goggles.  We called it the DUI test and we asked you to walk the line and then walk over to our game and try to play cornhole. If you have never tried these then it is worth trying. They represent a 0.08, which is a DUI, and shows you what it’s like to be doing stuff with a DUI.  It definitely puts your perspective in place after you decide to try our DUI test.
