The Most Influential Women in America

Believe it or not but Feminism still exists today and is just as important as it was during The Women’s Rights Movement. While women still struggle today for equality there are specific woman out there than refuse to back down and will stop at nothing until they get what they deserve. Here are those women:

  1. Oprah Winfrey

 

At 62 years old Oprah Winfrey is one of the wealthiest people on the planet. Coming from extreme poverty Oprah utilized her brains to get her where she is today. Not only is 

she smart and rich she is a women’s activist.  The Oprah Winfrey Foundation was created to support women empowerment and education.

2. Michelle Obama

 

Being the current first lady of the United States of America, Michelle Obama came into some great power and used it wisely. At 52 years old she has used her platform to inform and educate men and women about gender inequality. She has countless speeches regarding feminism and not only does she empower women she focuses on women of color also.

3. Beyoncé Knowles

 

Whether people want to believe it or not, Beyoncé Knowles is one of the most influential women in the entire world. At 35 years old Beyoncé is worth 450 million dollars. Not only is she wealthy, but her audience ranges from here in America all the way across the continent to Europe and Asia. She uses her music and her musical platform to influence her audience positively. Her Lemonade album is a great example of her approach to feminism. Not only does she shed light on the topic she focuses on black feminism.

4. Hillary Clinton

 

Hillary Clinton has already made history as the first female presidential candidate. She has served as first lady of the United States and Secretary of State. She like many other women on this list has a very large platform and a large amount of power. She uses this power to support fellow women around the world. One her most influential quotes would be “Women are the largest untapped reservoir of talent in the world.”

5. Angelina Jolie

 

At 41 years old Angeline Jolie is worth 160 million dollars. Not only does she adopt children of need, she travels the world and spreads the word about feminism. She has given speeches to different parts of Africa about how we need to address the violence and human rights violations that impact women and girls around the world. A great quote from Jolie is, “Women are still treated as secondary issues. It is still far too easy and accepted for leaders to ignore uncomfortable truths…”
