Out of all the days of the year, the months of fall are my all-time favorite. I love the way the weather cools down, and it is the perfect mix between hot and cold. That is not the only reason why fall is the best season there is. I actually five great reasons as to why fall is the most appealing to me. I am sure you will agree with me once you hear my reasons, but hey if you do not feel the same, no hard feelings here, I promise!
- Pumpkins
I love walking outside and seeing decorated pumpkins on my neighbors’ doorsteps. There is nothing more refreshing than seeing someone else’s holiday spirit. Pumpkins come in all shapes and sizes too. There are cute, little ones and there are huge, fat ones. No matter the size, you can carve them, paint them or decorate them however you’d like! It is one of my favorite things to do in October. You know what I did over fall break.
- Hot Chocolate and Scary Movies
There is nothing better than cozying up together with your closest friends on a chilly autumn night, sipping hot chocolate and watching one of the newest thrillers. No matter if the movie is old (Freddy Kruger), a cartoon (The Nightmare Before Christmas) or relatively new (Lights Out); I enjoy a month that I can dedicate to scaring the socks off myself. I am a horror movie fanatic and sometimes you just need a reason to watch one scary movie after the other. That makes for a good autumn weekend if you ask me.
- Scarfs and Boots
Okay, if you are a girl and you do not enjoy boot and scarf season, who even are you? I have more clothes than I can count, and fall is the perfect time of the year to show of my fashion sense. You do not need to hide your outfit under a big winter coat, instead you can accent with a nice scarf and warm cardigan. I am still a big fan of UGG boots no matter how out of style they may be. I think the jean tucked into boot style is one of the cutest and also one you can do a lot with it. Most of my clothes are meant for the chilly seasons so I can’t wait to put my summer clothes away and break out the rest of my closet.
- Halloween
No matter how old you are, it is always a lot of fun to dress up. If you do not enjoy being something else for the night, you’re lying. Life goes by too fast and all of a sudden we have to be adults. Why not have a little fun and get into costume? I also love seeing what the little kids come up with these days. I remember how much I loved going out trick-or- treating, so it give me warmth to hand out candy to the little ones. Halloween is the best holiday, if only they’d let us off school for it.
- Beautiful Sceneries
Have you ever just soaked in how beautiful campus becomes in the fall? If not, I really recommend it. Once the leaves start to change color, and you have the slight autumn breeze, it is hard to walk outside and not want to take a picture. My favorite spot is to sit right outside of East College. There are so many leaves on the ground in mid-October, and I just feel at ease with the world. It is crazy how beautiful our world can be. Sometimes we just have to sit back and enjoy it for a second.
There are so many more reasons that I prefer fall over any other season, but that is not to say that the other seasons do not have their moments. I hope you can all enjoy autumn a little bit more this year.
