If you have wandered through the hub and stopped to stare at all the posters and banners, chances are you know exactly who Megan Murphy is. She is the one with the adorable bob haircut on the Panhellenic posters. Murphy is very involved on DePauw’s campus and has a passionate, bubbly personality that you can’t help but love.

What are you involved in on DePauw’s campus?
At DePauw I have been a First-Year Mentor and am now the Program Specialist, DePauw Tour Guide, Big Brother Big Sister, Philanthropy Chair and Community Service Chair of Alpha Phi, and Philanthropy and Service Director on Panhellenic Council.

What is your best memory at DePauw?
It is hard to pick just one memory over these last 4 years, but I would have to say the week of Peer Mentor Training this past summer. During that week I made wonderful friends, learned more about myself, and had TONS of fun rock climbing and exploring Greencastle!

What if your favorite thing about DePauw?
My favorite thing about DePauw is South Quad when you’re a freshman– everyone’s smiles and “hello”s really make you feel at home!

What do you enjoy about being on DePauw Panhellenic Council?
Panhellenic Council is absolutely amazing!! I have enjoyed working with girls in other chapters and carrying out meaningful events like Special Olympics and Panhellenic Service Day. Each of us works to make the Panhellenic sororities more unified and involved in Greek events.

What are your plans post-DePauw?
After DePauw I am hoping to get a music-teaching job, either in elementary or high school! I also applied for Teach For America, so we’ll see what happens with that!

How do you feel DePauw has prepared you for the world?
DePauw has definitely made me a more confident, involved, and organized person, ready for the workplace. DePauw offers students opportunities to lead and to be involved with anything they feel passionate about. It also challenges your beliefs, morals, time management, and sanity sometimes– but we all seem to survive.

If you could sum up your time at DePauw in one word, what would it be?
One word: Happiness!
