Every girl knows that cleansing is the most important step in a skincare routine. All the pollution and makeup left on your skin after a long day will cause your skin lots of damage such as acne and aging skin if they are not being removed properly. The best way to prevent this from happening is by cleansing your face carefully.

Step 1: Oil Cleanser

My favorite way to do this is double cleansing the skin. So, what is double cleansing? It starts out with an oil-based cleanser and then a water-based or foam cleanser to finish. Using oil cleanser with your dry hand, apply it on your face and massage gently. Oil cleanser helps draw out all the oil-based dirt such as makeup, SPF, etc. The water-based cleanser cannot do this. However, the key to avoiding clogged pores is using water to emulsify the product. Add water to your face and keep massaging (it will turn milky after adding water). Finish step one by rinsing your face with warm water.

Step 2: Foam/Cream Cleanser

Use your favorite face cleanser to draw out the water-based dirt, such as sweat.  Most people are afraid of trying this method because they think that oil products will cause breakouts, especially on oily skin. Yet, that is just one of those myths in the beauty world. Oil cleansers actually help your skin by making it easier to breathe and prevent it from breaking out.

With these new bits of knowledge about double cleansing, I hope you will see this technique with new eyes and try it for yourself!
