I don’t know about you, but this year I don’t have any extra money to spend on Christmas decorations but that doesn’t mean that I don’t need some extra holiday cheer! I’ve been doing my best to do everything DIY, on a budget, and make eco-friendly choices! Here are my favorite decor ideas so far.

Garlin

There are tons of inexpensive ways to make garland. Threading popcorn is super traditional and fun. Recently I’ve seen lots of people use dried orange or lemon slices as decoration. I’ve not tried this personally but there are all kinds of tutorials on Pinterst that look super simple.

Pine Cones and Pine Leaves

If you leave in an area with pine trees, then using these natural resources can be a great way to upgrade your decor. You can throw pine cones anywhere and they instantly scream Christmas. Add a hook to them and they make cute ornaments. Pine branches make great table runners, or they can be added to a vase for a Christmas-y bouquet.

Paper Snowflakes

These are a little childish but they are also so easy and fun. All you need is a piece of paper and scissors to turn your paper into a winter wonderland. These would be super cute on the outside of doors or lining your hallways.

Wrap Everything

When I saw this idea, I was so impressed! Using wrapping paper is a great way to transform your normal decor, books, frames, etc into holiday decorations. You can also just use brown rolled paper or newspaper with bows or twine.

Yarn Tree

This is a great, affordable option for someone in an apartment that doesn’t have space for a real tree. I couldn’t find a picture, but if you search “yarn tree” in Pinterest you will find pages of them. The best part is you only need yarn or string, some kind of glue, and paper. It’s easy to do and the end result is adorable.
