I’ll just say what we’re all thinking: breakfast is the best thing to ever happen to this world. No matter how bad of a day I’m having, a trip to Ann Sathers will somehow fix everything in my life in the time it takes to eat two cinnamon rolls. While there are — in the words of Lady Gaga — a million reasons why breakfast is the best, there are five reasons it stands out as the most important meal of the day.
1. It has the best food.
When Ron Swanson explained, “There has never been a sadness that can’t be cured by breakfast food” he knew what he was talking about. Whether you’re team pancake or waffle, scrambled or sunny side up, bacon or sausage, or just an oatmeal fan, breakfast has something for everyone.
2. The morning is the best time for tea.
Whether your morning is 8 a.m. or 3 p.m. (no judgement), sitting down and spilling the tea with your friends is always the best in the morning. Getting updates on everyone’s lives and who they hate and who they love and if Venus is retrograde is really getting to them. Plus, we always know tea is the hottest in the morning.
3. It gives you a reason to get out of bed.
If I somehow have no plans on a Friday morning, there is no way that I’m leaving my bed for hours. But, when I know that I’ll be meeting up with one of my friends, that gives just the right amount of motivation to get out of bed and look presentable to leave my apartment.
4. Breakfast places are the cutest.
If you want an Instagram worthy food moment, breakfast is the place to have it. Whether you have the yellow background of Yolk, the wall paintings of Ann Sather or any other unique facet of your favorite breakfast place, each distinct restaurant carries their own cute vibe with them.
5. It’s the most important meal of the day.
Seriously, this may be cheesy but it must be pretty important to have this title. There are probably real scientific facts to back this up but I think it’s just because breakfast is fun.
Whether you’re on team pancake or team waffle, we can all agree that breakfast is just the best (and a good excuse to procrastinate on all those finals coming up).
