This week’s campus celebrity is the one and only Katie Marino. She was born in Westfield, New Jersey, just forty minutes away from her friend Snooki. Her dad’s side of the family is Italian, so she has traveled to Italy numerous times, creating a love for the people and rich culture. Florence has won a place in her heart as her favorite city. Although Katie has never had any pets other than her rabbit Bud, she has always dreamed of one day owning a t cup pig, but for now she has one as the background on her phone.
Being from New Jersey, the adjustment to quaint Granville was exciting and she instantly fell in love with Denison. Her love for Denison was immediately kindled after experiencing how friendly and welcoming all the students were and being enwrapped in the beauty of its campus. Although she is currently undecided on a major, she has a passion for English and loves to read. Since joining the Denison community, Katie participates in Ladies Night Out (LNO), Invisible Children, and club soccer/lacrosse. One of her favorite music genres is country, knowing all the words to Lady Antebellum and being Taylor Swifts #1 fan.
