Is it just me or are you too attempting to dodge the water balloons in your way when you leave home? Or do you belong to the ‘Water Balloon Launching Gang’? If you can relate to either of these statements, you are a resident of India, and already aware that Holi is just around the corner.

Holi is one of India’s most vibrant festivals, filling the air with color and brimming people’s hearts with joy and enthusiasm. Holi celebrations necessitate merrymaking Holi parties that include delectable traditional cuisines, eye-catching attire and decor, upbeat music, and fun games. If you are hosting such a party and are looking for some out-of-the-box ideas to make it fun and memorable for your guests, look no further! We’ve compiled the best hosting tips to help you throw a memorable Holi party:

VENUE AND DECOR

If you wish to save your neck from your mum’s rebuke, kindly refrain from using the interior of your house as the venue for Holi parties. The verandah/balcony of your home or the parks and gardens might serve as an appropriate venue for your requirement. Colorful rangolis, hand-painted pieces, paper lanterns, balloons, and streamers will give your venue a rainbow-like appearance.

THEME AND OUTFITS

The Bollywood theme is inseparable from any kind of theme party or event and is the simplest yet most difficult to prepare for. Having said that, I have come up with some last-minute themes to prepare for: Banaras ki Holi Theme (White dress code), Colour Theme (Specific colour code), Meme Theme (Dressing up like popular meme characters), and the possibilities are endless!

But don’t forget to incorporate your theme’s elements into your food, music, decor, and outfits. To make it easier for people to choose their Holi outfits, ask them to put on beautiful bright colors that will make the party more vibrant.

FOOD AND MUSIC

Every party is incomplete without mouth-watering food and groovy moves. To make your menu truly unexpected, ask your guests to bring food that matches their outfit color or dishes with the same initials as the person’s name. Moreover, you can ask them to exhibit their creativity and bring with them some drinks that are an output of their personalized recipes. To recommend mine, I would prepare a ‘Paan Thandai’ combining Gulkand and Betal Leaf.

Prepare a peppy playlist beforehand to satisfy everyone’s hearts, giving lovers their romantic moment, dancing enthusiasts their chance to shake a leg, and social media addicts their snap moment.

GAMES AND FUN ACTIVITIES

‘POV: The urge to celebrate this Holi in Vrindavan’.

This trending POV arises from the mythological significance of the beautiful love tale of Radha-Krishna. They popularised the idea of playing Holi with flowers and petals, a lovely tool of adornment. Include your color-sensitive guests in this party by playing Holi using flowers. I’d enumerate a few fun Holi games- Splash the water balloons, Pass the sponge (just like pass the parcel), Wall painting game, Rain Dance, and the list goes on.

My dear readers, it gave me great pleasure to discover and recommend these exciting ideas for making your Holi party exhilarating and fascinating. Holi is one of those times of the year that brings people together to paint the town red. It heralds the arrival of spring and new beginnings.

May the colors of Holi illuminate your path to success!

Paint your life with Holi’s vibrant colors, twirl to your favorite music, and enjoy lots of splashing water and smearing colors!

Happy Holi 2023!
