Dating as we know it has changed due to COVID-19. Amidst the pandemic, the need for social interaction has been prominent. However, the catch is we must limit the time we spend in person. So what do we do to fill that void? Yes, we can binge-watch TV shows and feel like we are in a different reality. However, that is not ideal. A great way to meet new people is through dating apps, such as Bumble, Tinder and Hinge. I suggest that you try any of the three, because who knows, you might right swipe on the right person. If you do get past the talking stage and want to finalize a date, here are three ways you can do that socially distanced.

  1. You can never go wrong with having a date outside. A cute, great way to spend your time with someone is going to a public park and going for a walk. If you’re up for it, you can even have a small picnic. This would be a perfect date to get out of the house and enjoy nature and each other’s company.

  2. Another date idea that gives off those old-school vibes is going to a drive-in movie theater. A drive-in movie theater is much better than watching a movie through Zoom or Netflix Party. You get to be in the comfort of your own car, bring snacks and get close enough to your admirer.

  3. This may be a pretty generic date idea, but you can always have a FaceTime date. You get to decide how you want the date to go. It can range from being a cute dinner date to a get-to-know-you, a gaming session or even a fun time to reenact old Vines and TikToks, if the chemistry is there.

Keep in mind to always be safe on dating apps. Never share too much information, trust your gut and always be true to yourself. Also, remember that if you plan any event to meet up, please follow strict CDC COVID-19 guidelines. Happy swiping, and hopefully, a date will come out of it!
