When Davidson Meets Magic: Reactions to Monday’s Rainbow

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Davidson chapter.

Ah, Mondays. While they may be unfairly picked on by popular society, it can be pretty much agreed upon that they’re not the sort of thing anyone looks forward to. But rainbows– now that’s something we at HerCampus can get behind! Take a look at some of the real-time reactions the people of Davidson had to the (double?) rainbow that appeared over campus at approximately 7:13 p.m. If you’re one of the poor souls that didn’t get to witness the magical miracle, have a look here:

The Sweeping Declarations of Beauty

These folks couldn’t get enough of it.

“It’s beautiful!”

“It’s very pretty.”

“Mind. blown.”

“Oh wow that is an amazing rainbow!”

“Made my day.”

“Oh Sophie I see it! It’s amazing!”

“If I had to put it in one word? Happiness.”

The People Who Began To Lose It

Reactions from people who desperately needed a break from studying.

“Help is on the way.”

“Escape from reality.”

“There is good in the world.”

“What does it mean?”

“There were definitely leprechauns at the bottom.”

“Is it a double rainbow?”

The Nonbelievers

Basically the Dursleys of Davidson.

“What rainbow?”

“We’re kind of on a time crunch.”

“There’s no way there was a rainbow.”

“I didn’t see it”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. Do you have my fanny pack?”

The Double (rainbow) Entendres

Reactions uttered with the best of intentions, but that could also be applied to something other than a rainbow.

“Huge!”

“It looks like you’d never get to the end of it.”

“It was huge.”

“It’s so long!”

“Let it rain all over me.”
