Pumpkin Season Is Approaching…

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Davidson chapter.

I love fall. I love the weather, the flannels, the leaves, the holidays. I LOVE the food. Fall, in my opinion, is the greatest season; not too hot, not too cold, and plenty of pumpkins to go around. Pumpkin is more than just a seasonal squash–it’s a necessity once October rolls around. Pumpkin is a staple and is also incredibly variable and useful. There are the classic uses–pumpkin can be put into drinks (PSL):

Pumpkin is also perfect in pies,

breads,

cheesecake,

and soups.

Pumpkin has even stranger uses that you may not know about. For example:

Pumpkin hummus,

pumpkin cereal,

pumpkin chips,

and pumpkin gum.

Basically, pumpkin is the most versatile, delicious, and scrumptious food you could ever find. My love for pumpkin is unwavering, and I live for this perfect season where everything (and I mean everything) is smothered in that pumpkin-y goodness. Don’t be afraid to take your pumpkin to the next level–whether that be eating pumpkin at every meal or trying a food that wouldn’t normally have the delicious flavor (for example, pumpkin spice fries). It’s about to be pumpkin season y’all, so buckle up and get ready for this delicious ride.
