Good Morning, Fabulous! Quick Style Tips for Busy Collegiettes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Davidson chapter.

Okay, so you forgot to charge your iPhone last night, and much to your dismay when you wake up, it’s 8 a.m. and you have that very important history class that you just can’t miss at 8:15 a.m. Oh – and there is that one super cute boy in the back of the class whose attention you are dying to capture…Don’t panic! Here are some quick and easy steps so you can make it to class on time looking like your fabulous self.

1. Breathe. Seriously. It will be okay.

2. Put on a basic outfit like a pair of jeans and a white/black/colored t-shirt. Style this simple outfit with a colorful scarf (for fall/winter) or a statement necklace (for spring/summer). This way it looks like you spent all morning coordinating your outfit but it really took you less than 2 minutes.

3. Brush your teeth. Do it. Always.

4. You might not want to rock that just-woke-up-my-hair-looks-crazy look and that is fine. An edgy “messy” bun or a chic side braid are two easy hairstyles that only require one hair band and a pesky bobby pin or two. Note: if your hair is looking greasy spray in some dry shampoo before styling so it looks like you woke up with clean fresh hair.

5. Makeup. If you were planning on constructing a new eye shadow shade from your three existing palates this might not be the morning to do that. With only a few minutes left until the start of class, skip the eye shadow. Instead remember 3 basics: a fine layer of foundation, a swipe of eyeliner, and two coats of mascara. These 3 makeup steps will definitely help you catch the attention of that certain boy in the back row. Just make sure you don’t go overboard on the eyeliner…

…but seriously. Don’t.

With these 5 easy steps you will enter the classroom looking effortlessly put together and no one will know that 10 minutes ago you were fast asleep dreaming about McDreamy in your morning class. Now it’s time to grab your backpack and run to Chambers. Don’t be late!

Oh! And one final thing–no matter how you look or feel when you finally make it to class– remember you are fabulous. So girl, work it.
