Okay gays we have been fed. Lesbian Jesus also known as Hayley Kiyoko has released a music video for the song “She”. And honestly, if you wanted to hope that she could do a Lemonade Mouth 2 look no further than this video. Not only is she rocking the haircut that we’ve come to love from the signature character Stella but the song also talks about Hayley acting younger than she is. The video is so beautifully shot and it was done in only one take so let’s talk about a few of the best moments in it just to fully appreciate.

First off we have to appreciate the messy room aesthetic that she gives us before going into a short movie moment of throwing clothes around. Following this, the camera pans to her on the other side of the room which feels like a completely different room where she is sketching. We then zoom in on the sketch which is a girl driving down the road in a convertible and in the distance a Hayley Kiyoko tour billboard is shown in the background. Personally, this effect is so cool due to the new dimension it adds to the video before the switch back and showing us Hayley living out her rocker dreams in her room.

Another aspect of this video I love is when her poster of Lance from NSYNC joins in dancing and singing to the song. It just feels like being in a childhood best friend’s room pretending that you are a famous rockstar and someone is filming a music video. And to have that carefree feel from Hayley Kiyoko someone that I have been watching since her appearance as Stevie in Wizards of Waverly Place makes 2020 seem like it is going to be what I make of it. Especially considering the fact that all of her other music videos literally like deserve a freaking Grammy and she directed them. Like the fact that this woman that I look up to so much is not letting the industry define how she does things by taking charge is so amazing. What other women would have a shot of bras getting rained down on her in her music video? Along with a killer music video, the song is absolutely incredible and so relatable with my favorite line saying “Gotta be a diva, have respect”. Like I think that is my new motto for 2020 anyways listen to I’m Too Sensitive for this Sh*t and pray that next year she’ll be able to do a North American tour.
