I think we all know a couple of car guys, you know, the f*ck boy personality. What if I told you there are car baddies, the ladies who fix their cars and can-do oil changes without going to the shop? I can say I am one of them, I enjoy the rush of going 110mph. I know you have seen them on TikTok wrapping the car and doing a deep clean on them. I enjoy taking care of my car and she even has a name Bubbles (yes, like the Powerpuff girl). She a lovely dark blue with a white strip down the middle of it to have it stand out. I drive a 2020 RS Camaro paid outright so I don’t have to worry about my car being taken away.

I was about the car life until I got into a car accident and learned that I needed something to push me to get better. I enjoyed driving to clear my head but after my car accident I couldn’t drive for two months, and it affected me mentally. I didn’t realize how when we were children sitting in the front seat or most likely it was the driver seat we would mess around the steering wheel and now we drive to clear our heads. I think about how everyone thinks that people who are into cars are crazy and have no money, but that is not true. And how we might not have a lot of money for other things, but we spend the money on the car because it was the only thing that helps us to be mentally stable sometimes.

My car playlist for late-night drives will always be old-school R&B music. Unless I need Pop Smoke playing which 80% of the time it will be playing in the morning when I am driving to work. I think the music you play tells a lot about you, what you are going through and how music can help so much.

Car Baddies have rules: respect your car, if you want to do the burnout just don’t do it in a parking lot, always respect the lot and never get yourself involved with the f*ck boy who thinks he knows your car better than you. The louder you are the better, right now my car is not loud but will be getting fixed up to be loud. Always have a good group of car friends (mine is a BMW and a Ford both male) but make sure you always out-race them, so they know who the alpha in the group is.  My sport mode will most likely be on to get that nice loud sound.

Never be afraid to be into cars if you are a female, it is empowering to know your car and there are a lot of us out there to help you if you want to get into cars. Go for it! My car helped me with my mental health a lot and I wouldn’t be where I am mentally without my car. At the end of the day enjoy your car it will always be there for you when you clear your head.
