Lights, Camera, Action!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CU Boulder chapter.

While we all love catching up on our favorite T.V. shows or going to see a movie, this campus celebrity takes her love for film to the next level. Dana Kopenhefer is a sophomore at CU and has taken her passion for movies and turned it into a career. This May, Dana will be heading off to the Cannes Film Festival in France for her second summer as an intern. After a summer of working at the American Pavilion, planning special events, and organizing panels (including celebrities such as, Ryan Gosling) Dana has moved up to the position of an alumni of the intern program at the festival. This year she will be working directly with a film company and will introduce first year interns to the program.  However, Dana’s extravagant plans don’t end in Cannes.
Once leaving France, Dana will be jetting straight to New York City for the rest of the summer to work for a film production company.  When Dana isn’t jetsetting to breathtaking cities, she’s studying here at CU and works as the assistant to the head of the film department, as well as making sure she is on top of her T.V. shows.
As a local L.A. native, Dana has had a knack for the movies since she can remember, her favorite being Almost Famous. Coming from a beach town, Dana has grown up ocean-side and loves every aspect of the beach. Aside from film, Dana’s passions consist of traveling, photography, and making flower arrangements. Assisting her mother since 13, Dana has made arrangements for people all up and down the West Coast, she’s even decorated some of the L.A. Laker’s homes. Dana, or the queen of take-out, as her friends call her, could point you in the right direction of any excellent ethnic cuisine. Whether looking for a movie recommendation, a bouquet of flower’s, or a good pad thai, this campus celebrity has you covered. As they say in the movies, “that’s a wrap.”
