2020 was a long year of staying home and wearing nothing but sweatpants and hoodies. One good thing that came from the year has to be the reemergence of streetwear into the fashion world. I am a huge fan of hoodies and sweatpants, and this year not only validated me in that but brought SO many cool streetwear brands to my attention on Instagram. Here are four brands that have changed the game in affordable, comfy, and cute streetwear.

Boys Lie

Boys Lie is arguably one of the most recognizable streetwear brands on Instagram. The owners, Leah O’Malley and Tori Robinson, based their brand around the concept that, “Boys fall in love with what they see and girls fall in love with what they hear. That’s why girls wear makeup and boys lie.” Their designs are one of a kind while still following all of the latest trends. The one downside to this brand, in my opinion, is that the hoodies come in one size. However, the sweatpants and t-shirts have a relatively wide range of sizes. Follow their Instagram and stay tuned for their next drop!

Lonely Ghost

Lonely Ghost by Indy Blue, an Instagram influencer and mom, is a pretty affordable and unique brand to buy everything from hoodies to lighters to beanies. All of their items range in price from around $20-$65. They emphasize love and friendship with their trademark saying “I Love You Say It Back” printed on tees, hoodies, sweatpants, and basically anything you could dream of. They just recently opened a store in Provo, Utah called Ghost Grocery where they sell all of their products as well as tees and sweatshirts with new color-changing technology. Their size range is also pretty large, ranging from kid’s sizes to XXL. Follow them on Instagram to see more of their items and support a small business with a lovely message

Desert Dreamer

Desert dreamer is one of the most affordable and ethical streetwear brands on Instagram right now; their tees, hoodies, and crewnecks are in the $15-$40 range for the most part and there is even a whole selection of items that are vintage and made with recycled materials. Not to mention they are all so soft and well-fitting. Their designs are all super cute and nature and positivity-focused, with a pretty good size range as well. Follow them on Instagram to check them out!

Serotonin Supply

Serotonin supply is a cool and happy brand with merchandise reading “I need serotonin!”, “spread serotonin!”, and other similar things. Serotonin is the key hormone that stabilizes our mood, feelings of well-being, and happiness, and this brand uses this idea to focus on mental health awareness. They have crewnecks, hoodies, tees, and even water bottles with their signature fonts and cute designs, with sizes small to XL available. They are a small but growing business, so follow and support them on Instagram!

This newfound obsession with comfy cute has changed the fashion industry this past year, and with COVID-19 still being around, hoodies and sweatpants aren’t going anywhere. It’s time to stock up on streetwear, and you might as well be supporting small and ethical businesses while you’re at it!
