The Semester’s Almost Over – What?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cornell chapter.

It’s true folks, we’re almost done with the semester! How time flies when you’re neck deep in papers, research assignments and prelims. That said, to those of you who haven’t realized we’re in week 10 of the semester, here are the stages of coming to terms with the fact that fall semester is almost over and finals are coming.

1. Shock

No way! Five weeks left?

2. Excitement

That means Winter Break! And Thanksgiving! And food! And Netflix! So many good things to come!

3. Realization

Wait…that means finals. Oh no, finals!

4. Crying

Somehow you always fail to remember that finals happen. It’s like your brain purposely forgets finals are a thing, until they’re a THING.

5. Worrying

Five weeks? FIVE WEEKS? You should have started studying early. How will you make it?

6. Planning to be studious

You’ve designed the next five weeks to become the optimal student. Productivity is your middle name now.

7. Relaxing

You’ve got time to relax, right? I mean it is five weeks…AND you have a plan, what could go wrong?

8. Partying

Hey, it’s Halloweekend, you have to let yourself live.

9. And now we panic

Don’t worry! You’ve still got time to get your life together. Just take a few deep breaths, cry if you must, and start working. Remember, after finals you can relax!
