S: I am a student adviser, work in NewLo at a tutoring center, and ski for the US Telemark Ski Team.

How do you feel about being a Campus Celeb?

J: Completely honored! So many people do so much for our campus that goes unseen, like our custodial staff, so they are the real celebs. But I love everything that I am involved in on campus and recommend everyone to get crazy involved. You get to meet awesome people who you would have never known. It’s also great because then you know people and then you will get a bunch of “Hello’s” on your way to class which is the best feeling ever.

S: It’s fun, but a little [*super] awkward.

Why did you start Club FH?

J: I was on the varsity team freshman year and sophomore year I broke my nose and got a concussion so I couldn’t play. After that I decided to focus on my school work and other campus activities, but the year without field hockey was hard. So I decided to start a club. I had missed being a part of a team and having a group of girls that I was really close with. I love the sport so much and knew I needed it back in my life. Field Hockey Rocks!

S: I played field hockey throughout high school and came to Conn and played with the varsity team. But there is so much to do and I couldn’t make everything work out. I also couldn’t not play field hockey- so I’m glad Jess found me and we made it happen.

Spirit animal?

J: Elephant. No doubt.

S: Anything that loves the cold, being active and hanging out with friends-so probably just a dog! Although when consulting two friends they told me an otter or an alpaca …so who knows!

What are your plans for after Conn?

J: It’s strange but I can’t wait to be a mom. But I’ll probably give that some time.  I also have wanted a dog for as long as I can remember, so once I get my own place getting a German Shepard will definitely be at the top of my to do list.

S: I want to go into underwater/maritime archeology, who knows where that will take me.

Where is the most interesting place you’ve been?

J: Inside my sister’s smelly goalie bag.

S: I spent the summer in Mexico for an archeology field school, but I also went to school in Switzerland!

Do you have a favorite class or professor taken at Conn?

J: I’m a nerd, so I love all of my professors because they are all awesome, funny and smart people. If I had to choose it would be Professor Willis in the Math department. He was my professor for 3 semesters in a row, and I loved every one.

S: All of the classes in the Anthropology department. I have taken two classes with Professor Bennett and she’s awesome!

Favorite Harris meal?

J: Toasted English muffin with chunky peanut butter and bananas on top with chocolate milk.

S: Quesadillas on the panini press ( Secret Recipe: bean sprouts, mushroom, onions, cheese)

Favorite place on campus?

J: Swing set by the education building.

S: The arbo. Sometimes I go running (illegally), but it’s also the perfect spot for hanging out and thinking.

Anything else you’d like to share?

J: HC rocks! Join club field hockey!

S: Come play club field hockey!
