The 12 Best Valentine’s Day Movies!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Conn Coll chapter.

Check out our list of the 12 best movies to watch with your cutie or your girls on Valentine’s Day!

1. Stuck In Love, a new kind of love story, is both moving and uplifting. Logan Lerman, remembered as Percy Jackson, plays the role of the perfect boyfriend.

2. The Spectacular Now is a coming of age love story of a popular self-absorbed party boy who is drawn to a quirky girl. Get the buzz on Miles Teller, next celebrity crush, before everyone else jumps on the bandwagon!

3. Set in Europe, Love Actually tells a twist of comical and heartwarming love stories that all happen to interconnect during the holiday season. Liam Neeson plays the role of a loving stepfather while the very attractive Hugh Grant steps up as the Prime Minister of England. Check out this classic on Netflix now!

4. No Strings Attached with Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman captures the complex story of two adorable friends who try to keep their relationship strictly physical. Yet their physical relationship may change their friendship.

5. 10 Things I Hate About You, which is based on Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew, shows a bittersweet romance and an all time 90’s classic. Catch Heath Ledger in the quintessential bad-boy leather jacket!

6. Breakfast at Tiffany’s stars Audrey Hepburn as a New York City socialite, who successfully woos a young writer who recently moved into her apartment building. The movie is a classic romantic comedy that is both heartwarming and uplifting.

7. Starring the lovely and hilarious Ashton Kutcher, A Lot Like Love follows the relationship of two people who met on the plane and made the seemingly impossible happen–going from strangers to lovers.

8. When Harry Met Sally is an oldie but a goodie! When Harry Met Sally gives hope to all who have ever felt friend-zoned. A romantic comedy about two friends who take a ridiculous amount of time looking for love that was right in front of them the whole time.

9. Following the story lines of several different characters, that of course become all intertwined by the end of the movie, Crazy Stupid Love is full of Hollywood’s funniest. This movie shows that love is something that can be shared across all ages.

10. Valentine’s Day is an obvious classic. Basically every star you could think of is in this movie. Valentine’s Day is perfect (not just because of Patrick Dempsey and T-Swift’s killer dance moves) because there is a storyline that literally anyone can connect with. It’s a great pick for both date nights and girl’s nights!

11. Opposites attract when Ben Stiller and Jennifer Aniston team up in Along Came Polly. Old flames are ignited and the love affair between Reuben Feffer (Stiller) and Polly Prince (Aniston) takes its course.

12. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days will always be one of our favorites! When they first meet, Ben (Matthew McConaughey) and Andie (Kate Hudson) each have ulterior motives. Writer Andie Andserson is doing research for her latest column about how to lose a guy in ten days and Ben is trying to win a bet that he can make a woman fall in love with him. Of course, hilarity ensues and love develops as each tries to complete their mission.

The girls of Her Campus wish you an amazing Valentine’s Day!!

Susannah is a senior at Conn Coll finishing up her Psychology and English double major with her Religious Studies minor. Susannah loves finding new music on Spotify, watching romantic comedies, and practicing yoga. Fresh out of the oven cookies are her greatest weakness rivaled only by her love of online shopping.
My name is Alex Breakstone and I am a current sophomore at Connecticut College, majoring in English. I love writing and am thrilled to be writing for Her Campus! One of my favorite books is The Great Gatsby, by F.S. Fitzgerald and I am obsessed with the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's (what girl isn't!). A fun fact is that I collect rubber ducks, all different shapes and sizes (I am now reaching over 60!).
