The current state of the world can be described as depressing, miserable, and upsetting, among many other negatives. It’s been a tough year for everyone, some worse than others, with natural disasters, corrupt politicians, and injustice reigning terror everywhere. It’s very difficult to not let the current state of the world overwhelm us, but in these harrowing moments, it’s important to take a step back and take care of ourselves. It is important to reflect upon the moments and people in our lives who we are thankful for. I have written down my own blessings in the form of a letter to myself. I hope you enjoy reading it through, and I really encourage you to write one of your own so that you can read it when you need a reminder of what matters most.

Dear Me,

I want to take some time to reflect on one of the things I am most thankful for: the people I love. Although I haven’t been able to see many people recently, I’ve had the time to reach out to a few friends and catch up with a few others. While having these conversations, I’ve realized how important my loved ones are to me. I’ve realized how much their friendship and love have meant to me. I’ve realized how their friendships have helped me, especially in moments whenre I feel overwhelmed and lonely. I am grateful for the many memories I have of them and for the fun times we’ve spent together. Sometimes it helps to look back on happy moments, especially with the people who matter most.

Sincerely,

Me
