If you are a bold, beautiful, Barnard (or Columbia) woman,
If you believe in women’s right to education,
You need to go to Columbia’s screening and discussion of He Named Me Malala. He Named Me Malala is a documentary about a girl, Malala Yousafzai, who miraculously survived after being shot in the head because she advocated for girls’ education.
This near-death experience only made Malala stronger. She started the Malala Fund, becoming a global leader and advocate for girls’ education. In creating the documentary, filmmaker Davis Guggenheim aims to show his audience the incredible passion, strength, and perserverance of Malala and her family in the face of harship.
Tonight, come to Lerner to watch one of the world’s most powerful leaders come to life on screen and then, stay for an important panel discussion about Malala and her cause- girls’ rights, no matter their religion, location, or socioeconomic status, to education.
