This weeks trendsetter is Lucy Sandwick ’15. Colgate really isn’t the fashion capital of the world, but who says we can’t make our own trends? Despite the dismal weather that really isn’t conducive to anything other than wool long-johns and onesie snowsuits, I’d say Colgate girls really know how to work with what they’ve got. The menswear trend has been very popular but at a cutting edge institution like Colgate, we’ve been able to push that envelope even further. Bye-bye menswear inspired clothing and hello straight up menswear. Yes, you are reading this correctly, I am saying wearing men’s clothing is quite fashionable. I was wandering around the library and I noticed a trend: baggy sweaters. This is nothing new except instead of these sweaters being ridiculously expensive oversized women’s sweaters, they were plain old men’s L.L. Bean and Polo sweaters. That’s right Colgate ladies have snagged the chucky sweater trend and put its own twist on it. Quarter zip pullovers have been particularly popular lately but a regular men’s crewneck or v-neck looks awesome with leggings/skinny jeans and boots.
