Three Things to Try This Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Colgate chapter.

  1. Bright Lipstick

Mid-February is possibly the dreariest, saddest part of winter. A bright lip color is an easy and on-trend way to brighten up your usual makeup routine. The local options are limited, but my favorite Kinney find is Revlon’s “Just Bitten Kissable” Balm Stain in Sweetheart Valentine. It glides on smoothly, feels moisturizing, and isn’t too intense. Also, Wet n Wild’s “Sugar Plum Fairy” lipstick is pretty close to my favorite berry color: MAC “Rebel.”

  1. Pre-Bed Yoga

I’m really into this “Legs-Up-On-The-Wall” pose; it helps me relax and sleep through the night, even though the walls in Cutten are paper-thin and everyone hears every little sound. To get in to the pose, put a few folded blankets/towels/jug jackets under the small of your back to prop up your hips and lower back. Put your legs up on the wall, relax, and settle in. Focus on your breathing and hold the pose for 15-20 minutes.

  1. Slices with Buffalo Sauce

I gave this up for Lent, so obviously it’s all I can think about. Lou-Ann has my order memorized: one slice, medium buff sauce, and a water. The Slices staff makes the sauce on site (using Frank’s) and it is really the only thing that can make this late-night staple any better. Ranch will never be the same.
