Whether you’re aware of it or not, you’re likely apart of some sort of fandom, whether it be for a TV show, a book series, a movie, a video game, a musical artist or anything else! This week we asked our Chapter Members to share their favorite fandom they’re a part of, why they love it, and to tell us a little bit about it. Here’s what they had to say!

Percy Jackson

Alauni “I was a Percy Jackson fanatic throughout Middle & High School. I own every single book of the series & I honestly still love it as an adult. I love the series cause it was the first set of books I actually enjoyed reading. I couldn’t put them down once I started and they were (and still are) the funniest book series ever.”

Genshin Impact

Abigail “My favorite fandom I am a part of is with the game Genshin Impact. My friend recommended it to me in high school and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. The graphics and character design is amazing and the story and lore is so rich and interesting. The game is about a pair of twin siblings who get separated on the world of Teyvat, the world of the game. You play as one of the siblings and the end goal of the game is to explore the world to try to find your lost sibling. Genshin impact is an open-world game which means that you can interact with the world on your own free will and do little side quests along with the big story line quest. I like that freedom in the game and sometimes I explore the landscape and listen to the music to help me relax and calm my anxiety. This game is a big source of enjoyment for me and I 100% recommend it to anyone who hasn’t tried playing it yet.”

Monster High

Brooke “Not a fandom I am currently in, but a throwback to my childhood: Monster High. I was a Monster High girlie through and through. I simply loved the edgy yet girly fashion, the elaborate backstories and characterization, and the animated movies. They were for the little girls who liked a little bit of darkness to their glam. Monster High also had representation of different cultures and abilities as they included several “monsters” who felt different because of their uniqueness. I loved dressing up as the characters for Halloween. I still remember all the theme song’s lyrics. So camp. Team Clawdeen for life, although Draculara’s pink, lacy, gothic outfits are the best!”

Harries

Mary “Harries – Harry Styles fandom. I literally love Harry Styles! He just radiates positivity and happiness, which his fandom also reflects. I love that everyone in the fandom lives by his motto of Treat People With Kindness.”

BTS Army

Gabby “Army (BTS) – Literally the best fandom I have ever been apart of. Songs are always a bop and have the best messages behind them, the concerts are amazing and 100% worth the money, and BTS is honestly something that I’ve poured my heart into and they make me feel 10 times better just through watching their videos, dances, listening to their music, and seeing how much they love their fans. IMO, no other fandom compares to that of ARMY.”
