Anyone who knows me knows that I love Friends. I also love Monica Geller. I firmly believe that she is the most underrated friend; she’s just as funny as Chandler, just as quirky as Phoebe, and just as caring as Ross. I love watching Monica’s personality and character evolve as the show goes through all ten seasons. I also love watching Monica’s style transform through the seasons. Monica rocks a lot of different hairstyles throughout the show, most of which look amazing. In this article, I rank her most iconic hairstyles.
10. Frizzy Bahama Hair
When the gang visits the Bahamas in the two-part finale of season nine, Monica’s hair becomes frizzier each scene. Not a good look.
9. Bahama Cornrows
Fed up with so many jokes about her frizzy hair, Monica visits a local hairdresser in the Bahamas to get some seashell-decked cornrows. Problematic af, this look clocks in as number nine. Cultural appropriation is a no-go on my list.
8. “The Demi Moore”
When Monica asks Phoebe to give her Demi Moore’s haircut in season 2, episode 1, Phoebe accidently cuts her hair to look like Dudley Moore’s. Yikes.
7. Messy Updo
A good rule of thumb for anyone: whenever you’re having a bad hair day, toss it up in a messy hairdo. Monica looks amazing with wispy pieces framing her face.
6. Classic Bob
For the first few seasons, Monica sports various versions of a bob, including a shaggy bob with wispy bangs. However, she rocks the classic tapered bob the best.
5. Sleek Mid-Length
Growing out short hair is always a struggle, but luckily Courteney Cox has professional hairdressers to make the transition easier. In season five, she sports a sleek shoulder-length hairdo, which looks amazing.
4. Layered Lob
Similar but less sleek than the last hairstyle, Monica sports a layered lob in the later seasons. The lob’s layers soften her jawline, so she looks more feminine.
3. Long Layers With a Middle Part
Monica looks fantastic with long hair–especially when it’s layered and feathery. The stark middle part also fits her bold character very well.
2. “The Monica”
We were all obsessed with “The Rachel” in the 90s, but what about “The Monica?” In the first season, Monica’s hair is very similar to “The Rachel,” but it’s much easier to style everyday.
1. Long Layers With Side Bangs
This is hands down Monica Geller’s best hairstyle. Her layers flow really well, her deep side part sets off her angular jawline, and her sweeping bangs emphasize her eyes and brows.
