Long Distance Valentine

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clemson chapter.
Another post about my boyfriend and the struggle it is to have one not so close to me

during a holiday that is all about love. I love my boyfriend. He’s the best thing that has ever

happened to me. But sometimes I really hate him. Like around Valentines Day. I get moody and

angry that he can’t be with me. It’s not his fault or mine it’s just hard. He treats me like a

princess and never fails to send me flowers and a little gift.

The past few years we were fortunate enough to spend 2 out of 4 Valentine’s Day’s together.

That’s pretty good considering we are 8 hours away from each other. Anyway, while a lot of the

focus on this holiday is the guy giving the girl something or going out somewhere fancy, to me,

it’s really just a day to be thankful and appreciate the relationship that I am fortunate enough to

have.

For all my long distance girls out there, here’s some cute little ideas of things we can

send our man to make him feel appreciated.

1. A few years ago, Under Armor made limited edition Boxerjocks that are pictured on the

left. Yes, I proudly branded my name on my boyfriend’s boxers. Anyway, this year they

made ones that have cupid on them, they’re super cute and if your SO works out like

mine does, this will go over BIG.

2. If you’re more creative than I am, you can send him envelopes filled with little notes for

different situations and label them “open when…” I’ve seen them on pinterest and

they’re so cute, unfortunately, I’m not creative, but I’m sure lots of you are!

3. CUPCAKES! Just because he’s your boyfriend, doesn’t mean that he doesn’t like sweet

treats on V-Day too! My favorite is Baked by Melissa. They are amazing and she even

has gluten free cupcakes now.

4. Something sentimental. After all, it is Valentine’s Day and since you can’t actually be

there to be all girly and gushy towards him, why not send him something to make him

just as uncomfortable? Whether it’s a dress he loves on you, a ring or a cute note, give

him something to remind him of how much you love him and cannot wait to see him

again.
Hey! My name's Liz and I'm a Sigma Kappa at Clemson University! I love my school more than anything in the world and love sharing that with y'all!!
