1. Why you chose Clemson University – The atmosphere, the academic
competition, the proximity to home, the campus.
2. Favorite thing about writing for Her Campus Clemson – Getting to practice
my skills as a writer and sharing that with others.
3. What else are you involved in on campus? – Tigers for Tigers, Camp Sunshine
at the Clemson Outdoor Lab, Students for Environmental Action.
4. Favorite dorm/ apartment décor – I love lights. I have a strand of adorable,
star-shaped, paper-lantern lights in my dorm that I snatched from goodwill.
5. What do you do in your free time – I like to read because it helps me relax.
Some of my favorite books include the Harry Potter series, the Perks of Being
a Wallflower, To Kill a Mockingbird, the Lover’s Dictionary, and the Picture of
Dorian Gray. Also, I enjoy hiking and exploring the outdoors, especially with
my dog Piper.
6. Celebrity crush – Emma Watson, Jennifer Lawrence, and Sophia Bush
(honestly, just all the badass women like them who make the world a better
place).
7. Favorite Clemson tradition – The tigers running down the hill on game day!
8. Ideal/best first date you have been on – One evening after we got dinner, my
boyfriend (at the time) set up one of my favorite movies, the Perks of Being a
Wallflower, in his backyard under the stars. We had blankets and birthday
cake Oreos and it was magical without being corny.
9. What do you want to do in your career – Ideally, after spending a couple of
years in the Peace Corps, I’ll get my Masters degree, become a Speech and
Language Pathologist, and work in a hospital setting.
10. Current favorite fashion trend— I’m excited that the 90’s vibe is back in
current fashion and, in particular, I love anything similar to Jennifer Aniston’s
style in Friends circa the mid-1990s.
11. If you have studied abroad where did you go and what was your favorite
thing about it – I plan on studying abroad in Seville, Spain during my junior
year.
12. What is the most fun thing you have done since being back at school –
Getting the opportunity to go to all of the home football games and having
Clemson win every time!!
13. Any other interesting stuff you want mentioned – I grew up on a small farm
at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, just twenty minutes from
Clemson. I adore all of our animals but in particular my guinea pig, dog, and
goats – our llama isn’t very nice, but he is featured in many of my pictures. I
love Clemson and always have, and both of my parents attended the
university – they were actually at Clemson around the time the football team
won the national championship in 1981; coincidence that I’m here now? I
think not. And finally, feminism is near and dear to my heart.
