An Ode to DCOMs: Movies That Made Our Childhood

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapman chapter.

Imagine the scene: it’s Saturday night. You’re all pj’d up and ready for some good ol’ DCOM delight.

You gather some snacks and your bestest of friends, and wait for the Disney teen magic to begin.

Which one will it be? So many to choose. You know that Johnny Tsunami is sure to amuse!

But what about Smart House, Rip Girls or Zenon

Each one will surely be cherished for eons.

Come Halloween time, of course Disney’s got you covered: From Under Wraps and Hocus Pocus.

To spooky Halloweentown and Mom’s Got a Date with a Vampire, you’ll feel nothing less than inspired.

If sports are your thing, there’s no need to daydream.

DCOMs have blessed us with Motocrossed, Alley Cats Strike and, of course, Double Teamed

If you’re craving a good Hillary Duff throwback, look no further than Cadet Kelly on the tele.

No doubt there’s countless more to pick, if you’re in the mood for a classic Disney flick.

You may have tried to hide your DCOM obsession, but really your love for them can’t be questioned.

So thank you to Disney, you’ve done us all good,

We all know our childhoods wouldn’t have been as fabulously groovy without the help of Disney Channel Orignal Movies.

I have four policies in life: love hard, eat lots, travel often and always be your own ray of sunshine.
