How To Treat Everyday Like It’s Your Birthday

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapman chapter.

With the stress of midterms, plans for next year, and everything else in between, it is no surprise that you are in a serious slump as the middle of spring semester approaches. However, you dont have to let all the madness get you down. Actually, you can treat everyday like it’s your birthday. So get excited and treat yo’ self with these fun ideas.

1. Get your nails done.

There is nothing as simple as getting your nails done. Who doesn’t want to get pampered for an hour? Getting your nails done shouldn’t just be for a special occassion; it’s actually really important for your personal hygiene. So go ahead, pick out your favorite nail polish color and hit the salon.

2. Get some take out for dinner.

You don’t need to go somewhere fancy. (Honestly, the caf makes everything fancy at this point.) Make a date with your besties and hit up your local Chipotle or Panera and get your food to go. Head back and watch a fun movie or binge watch your favorite TV show while munching on a delicious dinner.

3. Take a day trip somewhere.

We are so lucky to be in Orange and be in close proximity to so many different cities and attractions. Head down to LA for the day and explore the shops, restaurants, mueseums, and more. Or head down to San Diego to hit up the beaches and the Old Downtown. If the sun isn’t your thing, head up to Big Bear for a day of snow.

4. Head down to Fashion Island.

Newport Beach in general is a great destination. Go to Fashion Island to either window shop or treat yourself to a new outfit. After a day of shopping, go down to the beach and watch the sunset.

5. Have a DIY Spa Day.

Go to Lush and pick up your favorite face mask. After that, head to Target and get your favorite color of nail polish and anything else you would need for your own DIY spa day. (I totally recommend also getting a fruity smelling candle at Bath and Body Works just for fun!)

6. Go to Sprinkles Cupcakes.

No birthday is complete without dessert, so treat yo’ self (do you see a theme here?!) by getting a cupcake from the Cupcake Queen herself. With so many different flavors, it is difficult to pick just one.

7. Get a blowout.

While this may be a pricer option ($40 at Dry Bar), getting your hair done gives you so much confidence and puts you in a happier mood.

8. Get active.

Try out an exercise class, like Soul Cycle, with some friends and keep yourself motivated! Exercise releases endorphins, and endorphins make you happy!

9. Grab some friends and craft.

Go to your local craft store and pick up some fun things to DIY. Check out Pinterest to get some inspiration and craft away.

10. Check out the Anaheim Packing District.

It’s the mecca of trendy food. In just one place, you can get gourmet fries, crepes, popsicles, and much more. You won’t even know where to start when you get there.
