Four Cute (And Hot Weather-Friendly!) Outfits For Class

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapel Hill chapter.

Though it’s technically fall semester, nothing about the weather right now says fall. Hot sun, less sleep and trying to get back into school-mode can really take a toll on your energy, but that doesn’t necessarily have to be reflected in what you wear!

Especially in the first few weeks of school, it’s smart to dress well for class– you never know who you could be sitting next to! So check out these five easy outfits that are cute enough for Econ 101 and the sweltering ten-minute walk to get there.

1. A Crop Top and High Waisted Shorts

This super trendy look carried you easily through your summer, so why not bring it to school? It’s not like the weather is any different. As long as you keep the look appropriate for class– yes, you can find a crop top that doesn’t show your belly button– there’s no reason that this relaxed outfit can’t work for back to school.

2. Silky Shorts and Tank Tops

Like the above look, but don’t want to be trapped in thick denim all day? Try the same type of look, but with lighter materials. Silk, chiffon and satin are great for hot weather because they’re light and feel cooler on your skin than cotton or denim. In regards to shorts, they’re also much comfier when you’re sitting in class all day! Check out this awesome pair of shorts from Forever 21… super cute and cheap!

3. Rompers

Rompers are great for warm weather because they provide an entire outfit in very little fabric. They’re as versatile and easy to wear as dresses, but are a great alternative to dresses when you want a slightly more casual look for class. These two styles– both from ASOS– are perfect examples.

4. Your School Spirit!

If you’re looking for a more comfortable outfit for class, there’s still a foolproof way to look cute without putting together an outfit like the ones above. Repping your school’s gear is a great outfit cheat! You’ll look like you have a lot of school spirit (you do!) and you’ll stay cool and comfy. The best part about this option? You don’t have to go to the mall to buy your gear! Head over to the Student Stores and indulge in some good ole fashioned Carolina Blue for class. Always a win.

Happy back to school, collegiettes!
