If you haven’t met this guy on Carolina’s campus, you are missing out. Jerry Bowens is a fun-loving, exciting, intelligent, generous, loyal and extremely talented person. He is a dancer for Misconception, Mr. KO 2012, a businessman, an amazing friend and so much more. He has his dreams mapped out, and he plans to chase them until they come true. Jerry’s witty humor, gorgeous smile, driven personality and positive attitude make him a perfect catch!

Favorite Coldstone/Yopo flavor:  Cake Batter with Oreos

Tell me a little bit about winning Mr. KO last year. I did win the Mr. Kappa Omicron Pageant last year. It is a scholarship pageant geared to showing appreciation for African-American success here on UNC’s campus. It was a fun event to do and it helped me strive to do more on campus and to continue to give back.

What are your plans after graduation? I am moving to Los Angeles, C.A., where I have accepted an offer with Nestle Foods doing Human Resources.

What qualities do you find attractive in a girl? I love a girl with a nice smile. I love to laugh and make others laugh, so a nice smile is a bonus. I also like confidence. I am a very confident person and love a girl that can hold her own.

What is your perfect date? My perfect date would be a night full of fun. I am very competitive so maybe laser tag, bowling, or even going out dancing.

What are your biggest turn-offs? A woman who doesn’t know her worth is a huge turn-off. We all have insecurities and things we don’t like about ourselves but I am a firm believer that you must learn to still appreciate yourself and what you can bring to the table.

Who are your celebrity crushes?  Paula Patton, Eva Longoria and Halle Berry.

What are you most proud of?  I am extremely proud of the lessons that I have learned in the four years of being at Carolina. I have been really open-minded in experiences, friends, and in my academics that I feel I truly am taking away this idea of the “Carolina Way.”

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I see myself married, with one or two kids, living in a place like Chicago, steadily climbing the ranks with Nestle and enjoying life. I love to travel so I am hoping that I will have visited a lot of cool places.
