5 Stylish Halloween Costumes for Fashion Lovers

Halloween is only a day away, so it is time to decide what, or who, you’re going to dress up as. For all of my fashionistas who don’t want to sacrifice style or are on a tight budget, here are 5 iconic costumes you can easily find hanging in your closet to wear on or after Halloween.

Fran Fine from “The Nanny”

“She’s the lady in red when everybody else is wearing tan” Fran Fine has been one of my biggest fashion icons since I was a child. Don’t be scared to be bold and rock her simple yet iconic red, white and black checkered look any day of the week.

The essentials: Miniskirt, red turtleneck, checkered skirt

Optional: Black tights, black thigh-high boots

Vivian Ward from “Pretty Woman”

It may be a controversial opinion, but Pretty Woman will forever be one of my favorite movies. Julia Roberts makes me want to go out and buy a bleach blonde wig and boots immediately to go strut down the street in. Who’s down?

The essentials: Cutout dress or bodysuit, black thigh-high boots, red blazer

Optional: Blonde bob wig, chunky jewelry, crossbody bag

Dionne and Cher from “Clueless”

Is it even Halloween if there’s not at least one Clueless inspired costume at the party (or virtual get together)? Thanks to social media bringing back ’90s nostalgia, Dionne and Cher’s Clueless looks are super on-trend and likely already in your closet!

The essentials: Plaid blazer skirt set, thigh-high socks, heels

Optional: Mini bag, flip phone

Elle Woods from “Legally Blonde”

In the words of Elle Woods herself: “Whoever said orange was the new pink was seriously disturbed.” Recreate one of Elle’s iconic pink looks or create your own for an easy and budget-friendly costume. If all else fails, just bend and snap!

The essentials: Pink everything, large purse, heels

Optional: Real or stuffed chihuahua

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, U.S Representative

AOC has quickly become an iconic female figure in politics and fashion, with thousands of social media users recreating her clap back to Congressman Ted Yoho. There’s no better way to show everyone that b*tches mean business than to rock her signature pant suit look.

The essentials: Pantsuit, heels, red lipstick

Optional: Glasses, statement earrings

Whether you decide to dress up as yourself or your favorite girl boss, don’t forget to celebrate responsibly. Lucky for you, each one of these costumes would look incredible with a matching mask to keep you and others safe this Halloween!
