It’s all about Kobe, No Bryant!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CAU chapter.

Raised as a military kid, Kobe Drake made her debut at Clark Atlanta University in Fall 2015. She is a Psychology major, whose soul desire is to become a juvenile correctional counselor. Years of curiosity about human behavior led her to choose Psychology as her major, after almost getting off the right track at age 13 she had been inspired to positively impact today’s “delinquent” youth, believing no one should be labeled at such a young age. She enjoys thrifting, dogs, and having meaningful conversations. Interested in knowing more fun facts about Kobe? Welp, you’re in luck! I had the amazing privilege of speaking with the one and only Kobe Drake herself. Below is the exclusive interview!

101 With Kobe Drake!

Kobe, what is your biggest inspiration?

Kobe: Hmm, that’s a hard one, but I would have to say my parents. Both were in the military and watching them travel and adjust to various lifestyles inspired me to do the same, adapt and be accepting. I watched my mom achieve many goals and aspirations after she sacrificed her military career to take care of our family, while my Dad humbly fought for a country whose policies and regulations he doesn’t completely agree with to support and create a better life us. Our motto is “One team, one fight” and they’ve always stayed true to that. They make everywhere we go feel like home and I really appreciate all love they give.

If you were a cartoon character, who would you be and why?

Kobe: I would be the Uncle from the Proud Family. He wasn’t in every episode, but when he showed up he always POPPED OUT! He was funny, always himself, and positive.

Do you consider yourself a naturalista? Tell us the goods!?

Kobe: Haha, everyone always asks me that. I’ve always been natural and I honestly don’t do anything special to my hair. I usually wet it while I’m in the shower and put conditioner in it, with a little edge control to swoop the baby hairs. My favorite products are from the line “As I am”, so when I’m feeling fancy I use those too.

Cheesecake or Sweet potato pie?

Kobe: Sweet potato pie is for the holidays, soo Cheesecake!

Tarzan or Lion King?

Kobe: Lion King!

Sister Sister or That’s So Raven?

Kobe: Ahhh that’s a hard one, Sister Sister!

Benz or Maserati?

Kobe: Benz, just for the G wagon.

Instagram or Snap Chat?

Kobe: I can do more on IG…Instagram!

iPhone or iPad?

Kobe: iPhone

Dreamy and Romantic Date or Adventurous Picnic at the Park?

Kobe: Adventurous, It’s more fun!
