Who Is Milo Manheim? Get To Know The Star Behind The Movie Prom Pact

The opinions expressed in this article are the writer’s own and do not reflect the views of Her Campus.
This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Casper Libero chapter.

Everyone is currently obsessed with Disney+ new rom-com, Prom Pact. The movie star Milo Manheim is Ben, Mandy’s (Peyton Elizabeth Lee) bestie who wants to be more involved in that high school life. They make a pact to go together as friends.

Milo might have a familiar face and you might be wondering why. So, who is Milo Manheim and where did he come from?

CHILDHOOD

Milo Jacob Manheim was born in Los Angeles on March 6, 2001. He is an actor, dancer, singer and has appeared on the small screen since he was a child. In addition to killing it at what he does, he also plays guitar, acoustic guitar, ukulele, piano and drums.

Son of Emmy Award-winning actress Camryn Manheim. Milo has been in public life since he was born because of his mother.

As a child and teenager, Milo participated in several musicals (including Rent and Spring Awakening). In 2017, he starred in the musical Generation Me which earned him the award for best actor in a musical at the New York Musical Festival. Because of that same musical, Milo became an advocate for teen suicide prevention, besides being an avid activist in various social causes.

CUTE TOPIC: Milo started selling lemonades and raised money to help Barack Obama with his presidential campaign! Because of this, he was invited to the inauguration ceremony in Washington D.C.

EXCEPTIONAL MILO: FROM THE STAGES TO DISNEY CHANNEL

It didn’t take long for the little artist to leave the theater for the screen. Milo’s first TV appearance was a few episodes of the series Ghost Whisperer in which his mother participated.

After a while, Milo was discovered when casting director Amber Horn saw his performance as Roger in Rent. This was a pivotal point in his budding career as she brought him in to audition for a new Disney Channel musical, Zombies. Milo only really became known after starring as Zed Necrodopolis.

Not being outdone in sitcoms, he also made guest appearances on The Conners and (surprisingly) American Housewife!

Having recognition after Zombies, Milo was invited to the 27th edition of the program Dancing With The Stars where he managed to reach the finals and finished in 2nd place!

In 2020, he starred in ZOMBIES 2. In the same year, Milo was chosen to sing “We Own The Summer”, the theme song for Disney Channel’s summer season. ZOMBIES was such a hit that, after the second movie, Disney decided it was time for ZOMBIES 3. The movie was released on Disney+ and all I can say is that Milo carried this movie.

And Milo amended one huge success to another: in the same year of 2023, he joined the cast of Doogie Kamealoha, Prom Pact, on Disney +, and School Spirits, Paramount + new success.

Now let’s get to know these new projects that he was in recently

DOOGIE KAMEALOHA

The series is a coming-of-age dramedy inspired by the hit medical series Doogie Howser, M.D.. It  follows Lahela “Doogie” Kamealoha (Peyton Elizabeth Lee), a 16-year-old prodigy juggling a budding medical career and life as a teenager. With the support of her caring and comical ‘ohana (family) and friends, Lahela is determined to make the most of her teenage years and forge her own path.

Milo plays Nico, a street-smart teen who has been in & out of hospitals for years and lives life on the edge.

At first, I thought it was a foolish show, but I can tell you it’s so worth it. This show is really good and it’s amazing for you to just chill.

PROM PACT

Finally, Disney released a good rom-com just like we used to watch as kids, such as Camp Rock, High School Musical, Teen Beach Movie, Lemonade Mouth and Starstruck

We first see a high school senior Mandy Yang (Lee) and her best friend and fellow outsider Ben (Milo Manheim), who are surrounded by over-the-top ’80s-themed Promposals.

Please go watch this movie and fall in love with Milo’s character. He’s such a golden retriever!

However, Mandy is keeping her eyes focused on a different goal: her lifelong dream of attending Harvard. When she finds out that she has been put on the waitlist, she is determined to do whatever she can do to get herself accepted, even if that means asking for help from the one person she abhors – popular all-star jock Graham Lansing (Blake Draper) whose father is a powerful senator and Harvard alumn.

Once Mandy becomes Graham’s tutor, she begins to realize there’s more to him than she thought, and perhaps something more to life than Harvard.

finally, his latest release: SCHOOL SPIRITS!

Based on the graphic novel by Nate & Megan Trinrud and Maria Nguyen. The production is part of an effort by the platform to penetrate even further into the universe of young adult productions – such as, for example, Halo and iCarly.

The adaptation tells the story of a teenager who is trapped in the afterlife and decides to investigate her disappearance, along with other students trapped in this “limbo” that is a school.

The main character is played by Peyton List, known for her roles in Cobra Kai and Jessie, and Manheim is Wally, a ghost from the 1980’s who, in his teenage days, was a high school football player.

CAN WE EXPECT MORE?

OF COURSE! Milo has already confirmed that he is playing Joseph on Journey to Bethlehem, an upcoming musical retelling of the biblical story of Mary and Joseph. All we can do is wait for another hit movie coming soon!
